PSC CUNY Endorses Ben Kallos

New York, NY --  Professional Staff Congress of CUNY (PSC CUNY) has joined a growing list of endorsers backing Ben Kallos for City Council in CD5 (the Upper East Side and Roosevelt Island). Kallos' campaign has picked up crucial education and community endorsements in the past month.

In the New York Times' endorsement of Kallos, they cited his "impressive proposals to help students who attend the City University of New York by forgiving college loans to those who work and stay in the city."
"The PSC enthusiastically endorses Ben because he is deeply committed to high quality public education and shares our progressive values.  He is a person of integrity and action, and he knows that an adequately funded CUNY is vital to the future of New Yorkers," said Steve London, PSC First Vice President.  Ben Kallos' mother worked for the CUNY system for years as an adjunct professor.
"CUNY has been a part of my life since I can remember," said Kallos. "My mom taught at CUNY schools, and for a long time, they served as a second home to me. This endorsement and the chance to advocate on behalf of educators has deep personal meaning for me."
He has been the Executive Director of a leading good government group, attorney, Policy Director for Mark Green and Chief of Staff for Assembly Member Jonathan Bing.  Learn more about his run for City Council District 5 at http://KallosForCouncil.com.
