New York City Council District 5
The 5th Council District is comprised of the Upper East Side, Midtown East, and Roosevelt Island.
The new proposed 5th Council District covers all of Roosevelt Island and in Manhattan begins on 52nd Street running North to 98th Street with an Eastern border of the East River and a Western border follows 2nd Avenue from 52nd Street to 80th Street, extends to 3rd Avanue for 80th Street then to Lexington Avenue from 81st Street to 98th Street.
The old 5th Council District began on 92nd Street and runs South to 49th Street extended Eastwards to include Roosevelt Island from Lexington Avenue between 92nd Street and 79th Street, 2nd Avenue from 79th Street to 56th Street, and 3rd Avenue from 56th Street to 49th Street.
